Marya Burnette Carter (she/her)
Acting Secretary

Marya is an associate at Perkins Coie LLP., where she focuses on commercial litigation and a variety of pro bono matters.

Marya earned her J.D. from Cornell Law School, and her B.A. from University of California, San Diego (UCSD). During law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law and Public Policy, and was vice president of the Black Law Students Association. She also was a student attorney with Cornell Law School's Movement Lawyering Clinic, Tenant Advocacy Practicum, and Mediation Practicum.

During her time at Perkins Coie, Marya completed a year long fellowship as the Perkins Coie Racial Justice & Fair Housing Fellow with Communities Resist, a non-profit that represents tenants with low-incomes in housing court in Brooklyn and Queens.
